being thankful for the little things (even if they aren't so great)

Well long time no see again. (I promise I'll work on that...)

Anyway, today is Thanksgiving so I figured I should probably post something regarding that.

Some time ago, I saw an image circling around the internet that was a list of things like "I'm thankful for my bills because it means I have a house" and other stuff like that. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find the image, but you may already know what I am talking about. So that got me thinking about all the great things I take advantage of and all of the simple things that I am thankful for.

• the fact that I have to get up early for school because I get to see the sunrise
• the fact that I have tons of homework to do over Thanksgiving break because it means I am getting an education
• not being rich because it makes me have to be more creative
• being a quiet person because it means I listen
• having to clean my room because it means I have a room to sleep in
• all the opposing opinions and destructive riots because I live in a country with freedom of speech
• not knowing what I want to do with my life because it means I am still young enough not to know
• rushing to get the charger before my phone or laptop dies because I have a phone and laptop
• not having the very latest technology because I have technology already
• every little thing that goes wrong because it means I don't have bigger problems to worry about
• everything, good or bad, because it means I am alive and able to experience it

 

Even if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, take some time to think about the little things that you are thankful for. And whenever you are in a tough situation, look on the bright side because I guarantee there is one.
